Yeritsvank

It is located 3 km south-east of the village of Artsvanik, 14 km from the town of Kapan.

One of the ways connecting us with the historical past is the architectural monument Yeritsvank, located east of the village of Artsvanik, on a high plateau․ It was founded by Metropolitan Yeritsak of Syunik in the 5th century.

Open arched walls, a vaulted hall stretching from east to West. All this makes Yeritsvank unique in Armenian architecture.: Later, the church was surrounded by double walls, probably for defensive purposes. The remains of the walls and the ruins of the chapel have been preserved from the former complex.
