The longest ziplane in Armenia, which runs through Kapan and connects Shinararner and Unan Avetisyan districts, was opened today. Regional and public authorities, businessmen and guests attended the opening ceremony. The construction of the ziplane started in 2019, the author and investor of its idea is Kapan businessman, owner of Grand House hotel complex David Soghomonyan.
The total length of the double-sided ropes is 1750 meters, from one point to another is 680 meters and the other is 1080 meters, which is the longest in Armenia. The height of the rope is 118 meters above sea level, which is also the highest in Armenia, with a speed of up to 120 km/h.
Zipline is also different from the rest in the world because it crosses the city and the interstate highway. The total tour, marching from one side and returning from the other, takes about 40 minutes. The launch of the zipline is a serious investment and a new stimulus for tourism not only in Kapan and Syunik, but also in Armenia.
